Hermes invites you to a meeting on methane reduction in the US oil and gas industry.

The reduction of methane emissions is one of the most important opportunities that the oil and gas industry has to reduce its own greenhouse gas emissions in an increasingly carbon-constrained world. Methane is a far more potent greenhouse gas than CO2 and thus undermines the reputation of natural gas as a cleaner fossil fuel.  However, methane is also the main constituent of natural gas and therefore the industry can reduce its emissions and make revenue simultaneously.

Please come to listen to and engage in debate with oil and gas companies, a trade association, an environmental NGO and an institutional investor. What are the risks and opportunities from methane emissions? How do investors encourage further progress in effective methane management and disclosure?
